Finish

Finish one thing today. Just one thing before you move on to the next. It could be something that really excites you. Those are the fun ones. Better yet, choose something that is like a splinter in your eye, a task that you’ve been putting off because it’s mundane but must get done. Something’s that’s clogged your To Do List for too long.

Do it. Execute. Get it off the List.

After you’ve done that, look at your List and see what you can move to next. Stack up victories in the “Done” pile and you’ll be ahead of just about everyone else around you today.

    Sounds like a plan.

I think finishing one thing can be like that first big push of the snowball to get it rolling down the hill. It can create momentum – that powerful force that gets things done. (Just have to follow it with another accomplishment tomorrow.) So that leaves me the question, which one thing will I tackle today?

Glad you’re blogging again. It’s been a while.

    Thanks, Kevin.

This reminded me of something I read in Jim Scott Bell’s “The Art of War for Writers.”

The number one reason he became the success he is? A writing quota every week. Baby steps. Just like What About Bob.

I recently started a new novel and I’m lovin’ taking it one word at a time. Finishing one paragraph at a time. It’s a must.

    Thanks again, Kevin.

What about Bob…hilarious movie. Baby step to the end of the page, baby step through the whole chapter, baby step and finish the book.

I keep running across things I need to hear. Scary. I’ve been putting off finish finishing a book I’ve finished. I’ll do three chapters. Thanks!
