  1. Kevin, I look forward to taking this journey with you as an observer first and as a writer second. Your insight is so helpful for me and I’m sure many others as well. I look forward as this season comes to a finish for you being able to put my pre-order in at Amazon.com for “…” by Kevin S. Kaiser.

How great does it feel to actually see the characters and story you have dreamt about begin to come to life? Good luck my friend. I’ll be watching from this side very closely. I think we are all right there with you.
Our Sherpas = pen and page.

Looking forward to checking these updates out, Kevin. The project name hits home. You’re going to scale that puppy.

As I read the other comments I can’t help feel like we’re cheerleaders, haha. I’m on the field also, trying to bang out a first draft and hoping it makes sense. Can’t wait for the updates.

awesome. thank you for sharing with us.

You know, Adam, you’re totally right. We all need cheerleaders, though. It’s not really a laughing matter (save for the visual of a bunch of writers waving pom-poms). I had to trash my first novel about two-thirds of the way through (about 60,000 words) because it stunk. Without my wife, I don’t know if I ever would have moved on to a second book. But she cheered, and I wrote.

And guess what? She was the only one, really. My parents didn’t believe, many of my closest friends didn’t believe. Nobody ever truly will until you “make it.”

    Except, that is, for cheerleaders.

    Kevin, I’m cheerin’.

I love to hike in the mountains. So I really enjoyed your analogy of the mountain, the steps, and the climb when writing. I won’t be hiking K2, by the way, but I will complete a novel. Thanks for taking us along with you on your writing journey.

  8. Adam Weisenburger says:

You’re absolutely right, Caleb. I was more laughing because when I wrote that I was thinking about how I wanted my own cheerleaders. Technically speaking the book I’m writing now isn’t my first. I got about a quarter way through the third novel in my series (I worked on the third one first because it spawned the series) before I realized I didn’t have enough of an idea about that one to complete it and my ideas for the first book were more solid. So that quarter is kinda usable, but a lot has changed since I started writing the first book and I will have to throw a lot out.

Awesome! I’m looking forward to this vlog project. (: It’s nice to see how others experience and deal with the journey of writing. Good luck, Kevin!

  10. Congrats, Kevin, on kicking off your ascent of K2!

I’m on my second novel, but hey, the writing and learning never stops, so I’m coming along for the journey. I’ve got my 80-below parka, supply pack, blizzard-proof tent, oxygen tank, laptop, and fluffy slippers. Will that work?

    :-)
